The ZR-4630`s integrated 12 channel amplifier distributes its built-in AM/FM tuner and up to three additional sources to six stereo listening zones. It combines with keypads, IR Sensors and hand-held remotes to deliver complete control of your home entertainment system. Because all the IR codes are programmed and stored in the ZR-4630, installation time is dramatically reduced.

The ZR-4630 opens vast new opportunities for distributed sound applications. There is no longer a need for switchers, amplifiers and ifrared routing/distribution system. You no longer have to have a mountain of equipment. All you need is the ZR4630 and a Solo Key Pad(TM) in each room you want music.
Multi-Zone/Multi-Source Control. The ZR-4630 incorporates the latest in matrix-based technology to distribute up to four sources (including the built-in stereo tuner) to six listening zones simultaneously. Dad can listen to his favorite jazz in the den, the kids can enjoy rock `n roll by the pool, while mom relaxes to classical music in the tub.
Reliable, One Touch Operation. A single touch of a Master Key on the IntelliPad(R) Ci Solo keypad or Source Button on the R-4 remote initiates the ZR-4630 to issue a sequence (macro) of up to 64 IR commands and delays. Sync Inputs on the ZR-4630 sense whether the connected source components are On or Off. Depending upon the power state of the source components, the appropriate power commands are issued, then the desired input is selected, followed by the sequence of IR commands, i.e., Play or Favorite Station. This intelligent power synchronization found in the ZR-4630 is fundamental to reliable one button control and imperative for system control from a remote location.
Zone Status Provides Optimum User Feedback. The ZR-4630 provides display of key system attributes. From any zone a user can immediately detect whether their zone is on/off or muted, as well as what source is selected.
System-Wide Control For Greater Convenience. From anywhere in the home, the ZR-4630 enables the activation of all zones to a particular source component. Additionally, a global "All Off" command can initiate the entire system to shut down from any zone. When system-wide commands are issued all keypads in the system update to reflect the newly selected source and status.
Elegant and Intuitive Interfaces. One-touch keypad operation is provided by the attractive IntelliPad(R) Ci Solo(TM) keypad - the ultimate single-gang solution for complete control. The Solo`s Master Keys provide automated system activation and source selection, and can be custom labeled to match the system. A complete set of cursor keys provide for basic transport functions and menu controls. For direct access capability, simply add the IntelliPad Ci Numeric(TM) accessory keypad to the Solo keypad. Both keypads are available in three designer colors -almond, bone and white (inserts included with keypad). Keypad connections utilize runs of CAT5 wiring and terminate with RJ-45 connectors. The R-4 remote control, included with the ZR-4630, provides complete system control using Niles IR Sensors. Additional remotes are available so you can outfit any location with a dedicated ``zone remote.``
Robust power, superior components and design deliver rich clear sound. A built-in 12 channel amplifier delivers a solid 30 watts per channel to each of the six listening zones for clear and dynamic stereo sound. Its robust design enables it to handle low-impedance loads.
Programming Panel
Hidden behind a front panel cover is a learning IR Sensor and all the essential controls and indicators required for programming. A 6-position DIP switch enables/disables system-wide All On commands and Paging features for each zone. Programming is accomplished quickly and easily via a simple step-by-step process that is guided by LED prompts. Completed programming can be archived/imported using the included DB-9 connector.
Rear Panel
Source component power synchronization inputs for the external source components, ensures "one touch operation".
Home theater synchronization input provides coordinated control of source components that are shared with a home theater system.
Preamp outputs for each zone (fixed or variable setting for zones 4, 5 and 6) for the connection of external amplifiers for adding more power or rooms within a zone.
Paging input for system wide voice announcements.
12V control output for voltage triggered AC power strips (i.e., Niles AC-3) which turns On/Off latching power source components.
What will you need in addition to the ZR4630?
You will need a Solo Key Pad for every active zone. For example, if you want to use all six zones of the ZR4630, you will need a minimum of 6 Solo Key Pads.
To increase the control over your components, you may also add a Niles Numeric Key Pad to the Solo Key Pad. Numeric Keys enable simple, direct system access. Select a specific CD number, track number, radio station or DSS channel. Each key can be programmed for desired operation. Random, Disc and Group Keys control key functions of CD changers and DVD players. Favorite Key enables you to choose your favorite DSS channels with direct and easy access.
If you desire Wireless Remote Control operation from any zone, add an infrared sensor and the R4 Niles Remote Control. The IRR4D sensor from Niles will connect directly to the Solo Key Pad.
