Manufacturer's Description
The CR67 speaker, features a 3⁄4-inch Kortec tweeter and 5-1⁄4-inch bass driver. Ideal for stereo systems, home theater surrounds,or as rear channel speakers for whole-house music systems.
CR Woofer
Our engineers employed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and 3D modeling to optimize the geometry of both the cone and the surround. FEA also presented the opportunity to design a pole plate that was more deeply grooved than the competition—allowing the voice coil to travel farther for greater output without bottoming. This design is known as Deep Channel(TM) Design. CR woofers also use MagnaGuard(R) magnetic shielding (CR77, CR67 and CRC7 only) to protect nearby monitors and TVs from magnetic interference.A polycarbonate phase plug helps transfer heat away from the woofer`s voice coil, while helping to smooth response near the crossover frequency.
Kortec(R) Tweeter
Kortec is a material that offers detailed high-frequency response—often limited to metal domes—with the smoothness of a woven material, like silk. Ferrofluid and an extruded aluminum heat sink combine to improve the tweeter`s power handling and reliability. The tweeter is then mounted in its own sculpted baffle to enhance dispersion and increase sensitivity.
