The owners manual leaves me lost most of the time. I have called Denon once so far and they were very helpful. I still need to call them again to get all the speakers working.

I use this receiver to power proficient 870s and it blows me away everytime i turn it on. It is great with movies or music. I love that it streams radio stations through the receiver. I think there is thousands of radio stations to choose from. I also bought the Denon ipod docking station and it works great.

This is an amazing receiver. Very customizable and a tweaker's dream. Excellent sound quality and the ability to hook it up to the internet is a bonus. In fact, when I bought the receiver, I thought the internet hook up and internet radio was a gimmicky feature. However, now that I have it hooked to the internet via WiFi (Apple Express), it has suddnely become infinately more useful and I find that it is one of the best features on the receiver. I also use a Logitech Harmony One universal remote and it works well with the receiver.Very happy with the purchase. Additionally, [...]Would buy from One-call again.

A well built piece of equipment that sounds great. I've owned a couple of Denon receivers over the years and this one appears to be the best one yet. I installed this unit about a month ago and am still experimenting with all of the configuration possiblities.

Excellent upgrade from old AVR-3600
By Steve's home theater Verified Buyer from St. Louis, MO on 4/28/2009
Best Uses:
Home Theater
Describe Yourself:
Tech Savvy
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Mostly use for home theater. Loved my old Denon AVR-3600 with my old TV and for listening to music. Needed to upgrade the technology (HDMI, auto de-coding, etc.) when I purchased a new Mitsubishi LT-52246 (also recommend from One Call). Haven't listened to much music yet to offer a comparison but as I am not a huge audiophile I don't expect to notice a discernable difference from my AVR-3600 since it was such a "beast". I'm sure there are plenty of comparable receivers in the price bracket but I had a good 12 year experience with my old Denon and saw no reason to change brands.
