This Reciever is not for the novice but once you get it set up and get a good remote(Harmony One)you will be floored by all this reciever will and can do.The WiFi home networking works awesome, literally thousands of stations around the world at a push of a button. The amp section has incredible power and you can choose your input type,be it Toslink, component video,HDMI and it is all done in software set up.But the best part is the price from One Call !!!

Clear Sound is Wonderful

Clean Sound

After you get done hashing through the unclear manual and get the receiver setup, then do yourself a favor and buy or program a Harmony remote control. My Harmony 900 got me back to one remote for all my devices... TV, DVD, Receiver, and TiVo. The small Denon remote provided is fine if you don't mind needing multiple remotes. The large Denon remote is a almost useless except for the setup. With all that said, the receiver is excellent. If you or the receiver get illogical during the setup, my advice is to power off via the small unlit button on the receiver. That forces the receiver to reboot it's brain and clears out the confusion. Great price offered to me via email from OneCall sent me over the edge.

Denon Clean and Clear Sound
By Mike who listens to the waves Verified Reviewer from Los Angeles, CA on 10/14/2009
Pros:
Clean Sound
Cons:
Difficult To Set Up
Best Uses:
Home Theater
Describe Yourself:
Professional
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Do the firmware upgrade first, then do the setup unless you want to do things twice. When initially setting up the box and you and the box are confused (i.e., you have no sound), just press the small unlit on/off button on the receiver, and the receiver will default/reboot/revert inputs and settings back to a logical menu point. If you will think the receiver is broken, that's the sign to reboot it. It's not broken, it's confused with the multiple remote inputs. This receiver requires that you purchase a Harmony remote after you get the receiver setup to achieve complete happiness. You have to add the direction left and direction right commands to the Harmony to get the Internet Radio to work correctly. Also add the tuneup and tunedown commmands to the HD radio, then you don't need the FM Radio at all. HDMI switching works flawlessly. Great receiver, the big remote is only used for the setup, good small remote, but you only need one remote for ALL your AV equipment and lighting, and the Harmony 900 now has RF. I've put 6 remotes away in the drawer and retired my 7500 Pronto remote. Thanks OneCall for [...] the excellent receiver price.
