KEF PicoForte 1 Black

This was a christmas present for my wife. I'll echo what many of the other reviews have expressed: these speakers need serious break-in! Out of the box, they are harsh, tinny, almost metallic-sounding. They have broken in nicely, however, over 100+ hours since I bought them. I had a spare 8" powered sub sitting around, so I hooked it up to the sub-out. The sub really adds needed depth and weight to the sound.All-in-all, I'm happy with this unit at the clearance price. I wouldn't have been happy had I spent $400.

Purchased one of these several months ago for a home office. Loved it so much that had to get one for the office as well. How can you go wrong. The sound is incredible the appearance and finish on the product is excellent. This is not a [$] product, it is worth so much more. You will not go wrong with this purchase.

For OneCall's current price, this is by far the best iPod docking station on the market. I was able to add a small 6.5" sub under my desk at work and it sounds very rich. Also bought a second Kef unit for my son for christmas and paired it with a nice Sony 10" sub that has variable crossover allowing you to more closely blend the sound between the Kef speakers and the sub. No, this doesn't match the quality of my separates by any means, but if I had spent $200+ on a better sub, it definitely rivals a small receiver and monitors for at least double the price. It's that good for a smallish room. Only two cons - as others have written, you need a sub. The Kef's are too thin without them. Plus, it won't charge the newer iPods/iPhones, but if you pick up a Scosche Passport adapter for about $25 you solve that problem.

my wife loves it!! interfaces perfectly with her ipod nano. sound quality is great so she doesnt even mind the anemic bass. well recommended at onecalls low price.

Great for allowing i-pod use in the office. Great sound small footprint.
