This unit was purchased after comparing for more than 90 days Pioneer,denon and yamaha and even though I have denon and thought I was a Denon person I could not have been more wrong. This unit is so awesome I turned around and sold other Denon in bedroom surround set-up and bought an 806 for there. POWER,SOUND ALL THE TOYS. DOES NOT GET ANY BETTER.

Great Receiver for the money

Nice solid receiver with all the features. If you compare the parts 906 has in it you would have to pay twice as much to get the same proformance and parts in a different receiver. I have had no problems with the 906, settings and setup are all easy to do and no problems with heat or networking. One thing I really like about this receiver is that you can set the sound field on each input by signal. Example "on dvd input a 2 ch signal would output tv logic and a DolbyDigital signal would output as DolbyDigital" and you can set this for DTS, Multichannel, stereo, DolbyD etc.
