This is an incredible amount of camera for the money. I understand how the T1i may not be as coveted as the higher-end Canon equipment, for a professional, but I have many pro photographer friends and they all think highly of this camera. I've found it very intuitive, easy to use and I get super photos with very mediocre talent.

With a newborn on the way, we wanted to purchase something that would deliver quality photos so we could look back and reminisce later. However, do not buy this product if the video is a major factor. So far I have not been impressed at all and will likely still go out and buy a HD video camera. But, for me, the biggest reason to buy this camera was the sensor and the plethora of other features. Just upgrade the lens (the one that comes with it is nice enough to hold you over for awhile) and the flash (ditto) and you will be amazed. BTW, my wife cannot stop saying how nice the pictures look and how nice the camera is (and this is after I had to twist her arm to agree we should buy the camera).
