600Hz Sub-field Drive*
600Hz technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images with 1,080 lines of resolution**. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into data. And each frame is practically displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects.

The images that are recorded onto movie film at 24 frames per second (fps) are reproduced at four times that speed by 24p Cinematic Playback. This achieves film like reproduction than 2:3 pull down method.

Wide Color Viewing Angle

BBE ViVA HD3D Sound
BBE ViVA is new High Definition 3D Sound technology which integrates a 3Denhancement effect with BBE High Definition Sound. ViVA creates an authentic and exciting 3D sound effect from stereo speakers while preserving the clarity, definition, presence and texture for which BBE High Definition Sound is noted. BBE ViVA is now being offered to BBE licensees in the consumer electronics industry.

VIERA Image Viewer
It's easy to view full-HD images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen.
You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects. It's much more fun when you can view them on a large-screen HDTV with family and friends in 1920 x 1080-pixel high definition and a wide 16:9 aspect ratio.

VIERA Link
VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable.

VIERA Tools

Game Mode
In Game mode, quicker image response increases the enjoyment of video games when a game console is connected to the TV. What's more VIERA produces the dark images in video games more clearly. This mode works anti-image retention (wobbling) too.

I bought this TV after much research. I couldnt affort a Pioneer Kuro and hence settled for the next best "Panasonic". The 58" is just right for my home theater setup and I have enjoyed it every bit watching movies on BD. Pictures are crisp and clear. I am still exploring and tuning for best performance. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a plasma.

This TV is nothing short of spectacular. The picture quality and color depth of a 1080p source on this unit is nothing short of breathtaking. Excellent for watching live action sports like basketball, NFL, etc. I have the following sources connected to it: DirecTV HD-DVR unit Wii Toshiba HD-DVD player Apple Mac Mini (htpc) Sound is all run through a Sony 5.1 channel digital receiver so I cannot comment on the TVs speakers/quality of sound. You are doing yourself a disservice to not have surround sound to accompany the amazing picture, though, so who cares about speaker quality.
