Comments about Denon AVR-1910 - Open Box 7.1-Channel Home Theater Multi-Source/Multi-Zone Receiver:
Currently own an Onkyo 605, Denon 2809 and now a Denon 1910. This purchase was an open box and as far as I could see, it was as good as new. Open box deals are to be embraced, not avoided.On another note, I'm looking forward to seeing how the Anchor Bay upconverion chip works.........it's been good for Panasonic....why not Denon. Has to be an improvement over the Fajeida chip.....Denon makes superior products and is a great value for the money. Amp runs cool unlike the Onkyo and produces a cleaner sound. I'm a Denon fan for life. The Denon 1910 is being used with Definitive Tech Mythos one fronts, Mythos three center channel, 2 Mirage Prestige Nanostats and a Velodyne 12 inch sub. The 90 watt rating from the Denon 1910 is plenty of power to run all speakers with clean sound. Don't buy more power in watts than you need! My Definitive Tech speakers are rated for 200-250 watts and this Denon 1910 pushes these speakers fine with no distortion or clipping. Volume setting on the Denon 1910 at -15 decibels is enough sound for my ears!!!The only down side with purchasing a Denon receiver has been the crazy setup manual. First timers might want to return the Denon because of this manual- I know I wanted to.....BUT... Once you figure out the algorithms, it becomes a piece of cake. Stick with the Denon, it's well worth the plunge!
