Description
Want cutting-edge connectivity? Denon's IN-Command series receivers deliver wireless music streaming from your iOS device, the ability to access online photos and music via Ethernet, and more. Dual subwoofer outputs deliver bass impact to 2 zones.
With its vast array of inputs and network functions, the Denon AVR-3312CI 7.2-Channel Integrated Network A/V Receiver puts you in command. As the flagship model of the IN-Command Series, this receiver sets a new standard in 3D, Blu-ray, game console, and other entertainment device integration. It features seven discrete 125-watt channels of equal power, dual subwoofer outputs, and multiple high-resolution audio formats for superior surround sound. It also supports HDMI v1.4a, so you can get the most out of 3D content. Enhanced by digital network audio/photo streaming capabilities, including support for AirPlay, mp3/WMA/WAV and FLAC HD audio, and Windows 7 compatibility, the AVR-3312CI is a solid foundation for your networked home entertainment system.

Superb Surround Sound with Dual Subwoofer Outputs
Fully compatible with current HD audio formats, the Denon AVR-3312CI 7.2-Channel A/V Receiver provides powerful, theater-quality surround sound. The vibration-resistant construction thoroughly suppresses the adverse influences of vibration on sound quality, ensuring maximum audio performance with multiple technologies:
  • Equal Power Amp Design: Each of the AVR-3312CI's seven 125-watt* channels is powered by its own discrete circuit. This allows the receiver to reproduce original sound more faithfully than conventional models, which use integrated circuits.
  • Dual Subwoofer Outputs: An additional subwoofer output proves especially useful in large room settings where one subwoofer may not provide adequate low-frequency output.
  • High-Definition Audio Support: In addition to Denon's proprietary Dynamic Discrete Surround Circuit-HD and AL24 Plus processing technology, the AVR-3312CI features support for Blu-ray high-definition audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. These formats play back sound with exceptional fidelity, providing a more realistic listening experience.
  • Dolby Pro Logic IIz and Audyssey DSX: With the option of two additional height channels, these features add a vertical dimension to the soundstage, providing more immersive surround sound. Audyssey DSX adds the option of width channels to dramatically open the soundstage for a more theater-like sound.
  • Audyssey MultEQ XT Support: Audyssey technology helps create an optimal acoustic profile for your home theater by resolving finer details in the response, particular in the low-frequency range. Using the included calibration microphone, Audyssey MultEQ XT measures sound levels and adjusts speaker configuration accordingly, making setup fast and easy.
  • Multi-Zone/Multi-Source Playback: The AVR-3312CI lets you enjoy a program source in the Main Zone (the room where the AVR-3312CI is located) and in two other rooms. The source can be the same for all zones, or you can enjoy three different sources in those zones if you prefer. Use the Denon Remote App to control all the zones from anywhere in the home. Full HD Support
With seven HDMI inputs, the AVR-3312CI allows you to route multiple high-definition devices--like game consoles and Blu-ray players--to your TV. It also allows you to connect all of your devices to your TV with a single HDMI cable, reducing cable clutter.

Vivid 3D Visuals with HDMI v1.4a
The AVR-3312CI comes equipped with HDMI v1.4a, allowing you to make the most of several premium video features:
  • 3D Pass-Through: With the advent of 3D media, it is important to own a receiver that recognizes 3D video signals. The AVR-3312CI is able to pass through 3D signals from your Blu-ray player, ensuring that the 3D effect doesn't get lost in translation. It also recognizes signals from 3D television broadcasts.
  • Audio Return Channel: HDMI v1.4a also features Audio Return Channel functionality, which allows for audio content from your display to be played back through the AVR-3312CI via the single HDMI cable that goes from the receiver to the display. This eliminates the need for separate audio and video cables running from your TV to the receiver.
  • Auto Lipsync Setting: The convenience of Auto Lipsync allows you to eliminate annoying sync issues caused by digital transmissions. This feature automatically compensates for timing shifts in video and audio outputs to bring picture and sound in sync.
  • Deep Color and x.v.Color Support: The AVR-3312CI also supports Deep Color and x.v.Color schemes, which can display a larger color range than standard-definition schemes. The result is a more lifelike, vibrant picture.

  • Enhanced Network Capability and iPod Connectivity
When connected to a network, the AVR-3312CI lets you listen to Internet radio, play audio files, and display images via an Ethernet connection. The receiver also supports AirPlay, which allows you to stream music wirelessly from an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or iTunes. Or, connect an iPhone/iPod/iPad directly to the receiver with a USB cable.

With the Denon Remote App installed on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch, you can perform basic operations, like turning the AVR-3312CI's power on or off, adjusting the volume, and switching sources.

    FLAC HD Decoding
For serious audio enthusiasts, FLAC HD decoding support provides for the ultimate playback of your high-definition music files. A compressed audio restorer guarantees that playback of any compressed audio files, such as MP3, WMA, and AAC, is crisp and clear.

Supports Pandora, Flickr, Rhapsody, and More
The AVR-3312CI is DLNA v1.5 Certified and compatible with Windows 7 for audio and photo streaming, as well as giving you convenient web control. This receiver provides online support for Pandora, Flickr, Napster, and Rhapsody, allowing you to enjoy a wide variety of online digital content at any time.

GUI Overlay and Remote Control for Simple Operation
With its programmable functions and intuitive button layout, the AVR-3312CI is designed for ease of use. The front panel is smartly organized and features a two-line fluorescent display, clearly labeled buttons, and onboard controls for volume and source. In addition, its on-screen display with overlay on HD and 3D sources provides quick information about your system's settings.

The AVR-3312CI's pre-memory remote control with Glo-Key and on-screen programming is easy to setup and use, thus giving you more flexibility in controlling your home theater.

Comments about Denon AVR-3312CI 7.2-Channel 3D Ready Home Theater Receiver:

I have the unit set up to handle my main room with surrond sound and then a second Zone for outside. The App is awesome if it would be more stable. Locks up alot and you can't do everything. Even from the main box/remote I can not get Pandora to play in zone 2 unless I turn it on the main zone first. Then I can switch the main zone to anything else and it works okay. just a lot of little bugs.

The features are great. The connections are intuitive. Networking is not difficult, the 3D setup is easy. The sound is rich and accurate, and the power is more than enough for the average room. Could have been more sound fields and sound effects, but for the movies and music listening is a superb piece of equipment that brings the same features as in the $5000 range sound systems that guaranteed would sound the same. I paired it with a 75" Laserview 3D Mitsubishi TV and I am definitively not sorry for the result.

Comments about Denon AVR-3312CI 7.2-Channel 3D Ready Home Theater Receiver:

The basic setup is a breeze and gets the receiver up and running quickly. It sounds great and has numerous features that will meet almost anyone's needs. Out of the box, this is the best receiver I have ever owned.

After playing with the advanced features and setup, it isn't quite as straight forward. I have gone through the Audyssey setup multiple times but during that setup, I haven't been able to find a way to tweak the setup to my tastes. I believe it is still possible but in the end I have tricked the setup slightly to fit my desires. The online setup seems to be easier to use but I haven't used it for more than a few minutes. In the end, I believe it can be "perfect," I just need a little more time.

On another note, the entire system was locking up from time-to-time out of the box, but after downloading the firmware update (which is very easy), the unit has worked flawlessly.

Some of the features are definitely worth the money and work very well like Apple Airplay, internet radio, and network capabilities. I also really enjoy the HD radio with the on screen display.

The sound quality is also amazing! I have 7.2 surround sound in a medium sized family room where the left side of the room is completely open to the rest of the house. The Audyssey setup makes it sound like the room is fully enclosed and the clarity and tone is distinctively better than my 3 year old Onkyo. I don't know how to describe it in words other than it feels like the sound is being reproduced with no effort at all. This is particularly true for movies but music playback is in the same boat. I have it paired with Definitive BP-8060ST mains, Definitive Mythos Three center, Mythos two surrounds and surround backs, and two Definitive Supercube 1s. With this setup, the whole neighborhood can listen to music.

I would definitely recommend this easy to use receiver to anyone looking for clean sounds, plenty of power, and lots of features!

Most receivers I've seen allow you to plug in other devices in order to power them on an off with the receiver. Unfortunately, it appears that Denon has stopped providing this feature on their receivers. However, that didn't stop me from purchasing this unit.

I'm generally very satisfied with it.

Yes you would easily be able to set up a 5.1 main zone on the Denon AVR-3312CI with a full stereo 2nd zone. Zone 2 is completely a stereo zone, however must be driven by the analog audio sources either items connected by standard RCA stereo inputs, the network connection or the USB input. A:

The AVR-3312CI replaced the AVR-3311CI. The AirPlay feature is now included instead of requiring a $50 upgrade. There was a cosmetic change as well, the newer 3312 does not have a flip down cover on the front to hide controls like the 3311 did. The 3312 also supports more digital streaming formats of music then the 3311 did. The 3312 also has an extra HDMI input but no remote for the second zone like the 3311. Denon also changed the company from whom they buy video processors from with this model, but there does not seem to be a change in performance.

I plan to use the preamp connections to go to outboard amps for 5.1 of the 7.1 channels. Can I go directly from the other two regular speaker connections to power the other two speakers, or would I also have to use outboard amps for them?

                A:

Since the receiver does use assignable amps for the speaker terminals you can easily set up a second zone powered off of the receiver. The pre-amp outputs are separate of the speaker terminals and should easily be able to feed to your power amplifiers.

            • Q:

What can you tell me about using both of the hdmi outputs at the same time? I'd like to drive my projector in one room and a television in another room at the same time... most-often with the same content source. The PJ and the TV are both 1080p... but given that HDMI typically goes to lowest-denominator, what happens to the audio, if the TV is stereo but the projector/avr is 7.1? It might also help to know that I've wired the TV room with "B" side speakers from my current Denon AVR.

Also, can this receiver drive different content to each screen... as an example, blu-ray to the projector while the TV is getting satellite TV? Sidebar comment: It amazes me that more AVRs don't have dual HDMI outs.
