I bought one of these 3 or 4 years ago for my duaghter and her family for their home theater. It is excellent for that.I just this week bought one for myself to replace and 8" Yamaha Sub on my stereo system in my bedroom. I originally had 5-1/4 speakers for the stereos and the Yamaha seemed acceptable. I replaced the 5-1/4s with a pair of Bose 301s. They have an 8" and ( 2 ) 3-1/2" speakers in each of them. The Yamaha was adding nothing to the system at this point.I bought the PS-10 mainly because the Receiver I have ( Yamaha Natural Sound RX-397 ) has no sub output and I needed the speaker level connections that for some reason Infinity decided to do away with on the PS-210.Got it yesterday and hooked it up.Wow ! what a difference.I have it set at 90 on the crossover and the volume about half way. Any more than that and it will overpower the other speakers.Nice clean tight, bass.I did not give it 5 stars because that said it was as good as it gets. I also have a Velodyne SPL-1000 in the den hooked up to my home theater and it is awesome. Keep in mind that the Velodyne costs 3 times what this does.I am very happy with this one. If I had not already bought the Velodyne I would not have spent the extra money for it. I would have bought one of these for the den.

On sale the PC-10 was offered at a great price and I've been happy with my previous Infinity purchases. It was intended for the bedroom bookshelf stereo so I wasn't looking for anything too special. It fell short of my low expectations when playing a CD and caused severe interference with the FM signal. To troubleshoot, I plugged in the home theatre sub I built (1000 watt Dayton amp + TC 2000 spkr) and there was no interference with FM reception. Unfortunately, now I know what a decent sub will sound like in that room, but in all fairness the PS-10 cost less than a good speaker alone. I will probably move the PS-10 to the office to supplement the computer speakers.

Awesome Sub

Comments about Infinity PS-10 10-Inch 250-watt Powered Subwoofer:
This subwoofer is great. The sound is powerful and tight. It has a sleek, black cloth grill that fits the face of the sub. Looks much nicer than the current (newer) model's "waterfall" grill which curves up over the top of the sub. Perfect match for my existing Infinity speakers (Alpha 50), both sonically and aesthetically.

About Me Tech Savvy
I BOUGHT THIS SPEAKER TO REPLACE AN UNFIXABLE BU-8 SUB WOOFER. I COULD BE USED TO THE OLD SPEAKER, SEEMING VERY POWERFULL FOR A SMALL 8" SPEAKER. THE BASS SEEMS VERY SUBTLE WHICH MIGHT BE GOOD FOR SOME. THE OLD SPEAKER WAS MORE BOOMY(IF THAT IS A WORD)CAN'T SEEM TO GET THE VOLUME OUT OF THE NEW. BUT IT IS NICE AND I'M STILL MESSING WITH SETTINGS.
Sounds good

About Me Musically Inclined, Practical, Tech Savvy
The PS-10 is an excellent subwoofer for both movies and music. It has good powerful bass for movie effects but is also reasonably tight and accurate for music listening (not too boomy).
offers a good deep bass & affordable

used it with jbl l880 loudspeakers and a harman kardon 3490 reciever in a 24x16 room. this adds a very well balanced bass throughout the room and house for that. control knob on the rear side of sub to adjust how much bass you want. this is an excellent sub for anyone serious about sound quality.
