Comments about Marantz ES7001 SSX Left, Center, Right Speaker Bar:
I'm sort of a techie audiophile but decided to compromise for aesthetics (and my condo's resale value) and get all my sound from the front, under my LCD TV. I added the Marantz wall mount and matching subwoofer as well. The sound out of the pair is very good and the sub blends perfectly. However, the whole system can struggle at higher volumes during movies and even though Marantz postures that the soundbar has true surround that's far from the case. The sound that is there is very pleasing and you get it all in one unit, but if you're looking for true surround the Yamaha sound projectors could be a better fit (I haven't heard them myself but was between the two) -- the Marantz provides no rear channel audio for all practical purposes. Overall I'm happy with the setup, and love it's look and solid construction, but the sound does not blow me away (maybe if it could handle more power I would feel differently). I could imagine wanting to upgrade in a few years if a new setup wouldn't require rewiring my walls.
