For years, Mitsubishi has remained at the cutting edge of technological advancement, while never losing sight of what is important to our customers. This philosophy is evident in our timeless designs, the pursuit of quality and a commitment to innovation. The UltraThin Frame™ of our 149 Series LCD Flat Panel HDTVs gives you more picture and sound in less space. The result is an immersive sight and sound experience that lets you forget you are simply watching television. This whole new dimension in sound comes from an Integrated Sound Projector (iSP) designed to reproduce True-To-Life 5.1 Surround Sound without bulky receivers or additional speakers. How iSP works The integrated sound projector (iSP) reproduces true 5.1 surround sound from a single speaker cabinet attached below the TV screen. The speaker enclosure houses a 16-speaker array that creates a 5.1 channel sound field. Through the use of an advanced algorithm, the iSP delays the sound varying intervals to each of the 16 speakers. As a result, the speaker generates 5.1 distinct sound beams that are focused both directly and indirectly to the listener. Additionally, all of the 149 Series models are digital cable ready; simply insert a cable card and view all of your favorite programming, accessible via TV Guide Daily. For once, technology that truly simplifies your life.

Comments about Mitsubishi LT-46149 46-Inch Unisen(TM) 120Hz 1080p LCD HDTV:
The built-in sound projector is outstanding. The picture is very good. The tuner is extremely slow, which may not be a problem if you are using this as a display with an outside tuner.

About Me Casual User
Was not really looking at the Mitsu...was looking at LG and Panasonic. This was very compatable and had a much better sound offering. Will save me from installing a home theatre sound system
decent although a bit early to tell

Fantastic HD picture. Sound would be perfect if it included a subwoofer. I added an inexpensive one and now it's amazing. No need for any extra speakers other than the sub for superb sound. The TV is a bit pricey, but all things considered, I am very satisfied with the quality of the unit. It has so many settings that it's a tweakers delite. BTW, OneCall is great!
I have owned Mitsubishi products in the past and have not had a bad experience yet. This set is no exception in that I am very pleased with its performance. The picture is excellent, especially in HD, and the sound is far above average. With 16 speakers, it's a 'tweakers' delite. Out of the box, the sound is very good, however it needs help with bass sounds. I picked up an inexpensive subwoofer and it turned the TV into an awesome unit. It's a bit pricey, but in my opinion, it's worth it in the long run. Incidentally, OneCall is the best.
