The full line of Zuiko Digital Specific LensesTM are compatible with the EVOLT E-300 and each is perfectly matched with the 4/3-type image sensor to deliver light more directly to each of the imager's pixels. By filling each pixel more precisely, the outcome is clear, accurate color, sharp contrast and bright images even at the edges.
These lenses also feature their own internal CPU which allows them to directly communicate with the camera and transfer data specific to the lens being used to the software where corrections of potential distortions and aberrations occur automatically.
Furthermore, the camera's TruePic TURBO image processor offers significantly improved image quality and combines with anti-blooming technology on each pixel to eliminate undesirable "artifacts," "moiré," and other aberrations that can appear.

Full Frame Transfer CCD The EVOLT E-300 utilizes a powerful 8 megapixel Full Frame Transfer CCD (FFT-CCD) that results in the capture of images with outstanding clarity and detail, and beautiful images that can easily be blown up to various sizes and printed by today's home printers.
The EVOLT E-300`s FFT-CCD offers substantial benefits over an Interline CCD found in other digital SLRs. In transferring image data off the chip to the image register area, an Interline CCD uses a broad range of valuable real estate that could be better utilized for further image capture information, thereby reducing the size of the active image gathering area - photodiodes - in each pixel. By comparison, the FFT-CCD transfers data via a Vertical Charge Transfer Register that is 1.5x larger than common Interline CCDs of common size, meaning more data is able to be captured and utilized, resulting in better image resolution, higher dynamic range, lower noise, and more image information.
Supersonic Wave Filter Dust has long been an issue in digital photography. The EVOLT E-300 features Olympus' exclusive Supersonic Wave FilterTM that dramatically reduces dust and other particles from settling on the image sensor. Located between the shutter and the CCD, the Supersonic Wave Filter uses high-speed ultrasonic vibration to cause dust and other micro elements to fall off and be collected and held so they don't affect photographs. This filter vibrates at 350,000 times per second and is activated upon powering up the camera or manually via the menu to render dust harmless. This unique technology provides both the freedom and comfort to shoot and interchange lenses with the confidence that your images won't be damaged or ruined by dust ever again.
