Lots of great reviews on this TV so I will skip to the solution for the Netflix Issue. Out of the box the internet features of the XBR worked great EXCEPT FOR NETFLIX! TV would attempt to download Netflix movie, freeze up, turn off, turn back on and not load movie. Spoke with Netflix and Sony who claimed no knowledge of the problem. The fix is a software update to the TV and problem solved. Better part is all XBR 9's have a built in software update feature located in the user menu under service and support. No download to a USB drive etc. it is all done within the menu of the TV. (Provided you have the internet connected) Entire process takes 5 minutes and Netflix works great.

Comments about Sony KDL-52XBR9 52-inch BRAVIA 240Hz 1080p LCD HDTV:

Screen is going black after 2 years of use. I have 3 Samsungs that are up to 5 years old still performing great. Paid more than 2k for this TV and didn't expect to have to pay for another one so soon. The Blu-ray entertainment package I bought with this failed after 1 month, Sony replaced it, but what happened to the reputation for quality Sony used to have? Guess I'll go back to Samsung, bye Sony.

Comments about Sony KDL-52XBR9 52-inch BRAVIA 240Hz 1080p LCD HDTV:

Unfortunately, I bought a SONY TV KDL-52XBR9 last December 2009, just exactly one year of use, the LCD Panel started to have double vertical images, colors started to disappear, the red/blue ones becomes black, horizontal stripes, etc.
The SEARS technician said "The LCD Panel is BAD, it needs to be replaced". The cost of LCD panel repair is $3,800.00
This is very bad for the SONY brand, because if I have to trash away $2,200.00 that cost me this TV, I will never buy again any SONY and I will be on charge to post on all the REVIEWs this issue with the LCD panels on SONY TVs.
I am totally disappointment with SONY, they just washed their hands and also, they did not post my review made last January 2011.

Bought sony bravia 52" tv brand new $2300.00 in Nov. 2008. One minute we were watching the Masters April 2011, the next minute the picture quit. Service came out and said the lcd panel went and would cost $2700.00 to repair.
We are watching ourJVC 10 year old flat screen. How do you explain that? Facts prove that Sony is not the brand you think. Very Disappointed.

Picture is starting to go was told it was either the timer control board $200.00 + or the screen itself which would not be worth fixing as it's 90% of the cost of the Tv itself.
Waiting to see what part I need and if Sony will stand behind it.
