ThinkFlood RedEye Remote Control

Introducing the RedEye Remote Control System
Use your iPhone or iPod touch to control your TV, stereo, cable box, DVD player, and many other devices. The RedEye Remote Control System allows you to control nearly all of your home entertainment electronics without the clutter of multiple remotes. With the RedEye system you can use your iPhone or iPod touch to control your TV, stereo, cable box, DVD player, and many other devices that receive standard (infrared) signals. In other words, no more hunting through your sofa cushions for all those different remotes – all the control you need is right in your pocket.

  • Multiple users, multiple rooms
  • Simple, elegant and intuitive interface
  • RedEye software updates are free and easily accessible
Description
Personal
Each person in your house can use her own iPhone or iPod touch as a controller, and more than one controller can interact with your gear simultaneously.

Simple
One touch launches any activity – watch TV, listen to music, play a video. And custom screen layouts for each activity mean you never have to hunt for the right button.

Smart
Multi-touch gestures for common functions, free software upgrades delivered through iTunes, the ability to control different rooms from anywhere in the house – all cheaper than other universal remotes.

Wireless
After you install the RedEye app (a free download from iTunes) on your iPhone or iPod touch, you can communicate with the RedEye device over Wi-Fi. Then the RedEye device sends out infrared signals to control your equipment. Because the RedEye device is in the same room as your equipment, you don’t have to be. Instead, you can control your living room stereo from the kitchen, or turn off the TV upstairs.

Modular
Like some high-end home automation setups, the RedEye system is modular: you can control more rooms by adding more RedEye devices, or add more controllers by adding more iPhones. Unlike the high-end setups, the RedEye system comes at a fraction of the price and doesn’t require a professional installer.

Evolving
Unlike most other remote controls, the RedEye system connects to the Internet.* That means there is a whole world of new possibilities for you to experience your entertainment. We will be upgrading the RedEye application regularly to add new features. The best part? The RedEye application and upgrades are free.

What Do I Need?
The RedEye system can control virtually all devices that receive infrared control signals — in other words, TVs, cable boxes, stereos, DVD players, VCRs, and much more. It consists of two pieces: an iPhone application, and a hardware device. The iPhone application is a free download from iTunes, and works with all iPhone or iPod touch models running iPhone OS 2.2.1 or later. Although not required, we recommend using the RedEye system with a Wi-Fi network that connects to the Internet.

Comments about ThinkFlood RedEye Universal Remote for iPhone and iPod Touch:

Was really excited by this product. Spent about 2 hours programming it to be an amazing remote ... was still excited. But when I'd press a button, the response time wasn't immediate. Then, it dumped all of the memory of everything. I didn't have the heart to spend another 2 hours programming something that didn't work right. It's possible it was a defective unit ... but I wasn't willing to spend the effort to try again.
