This was my first HD purchase. Up until now, I had used a CRT Toshiba (that I loved). Toshiba has always been a good brand for me so I wanted to stay true. I chose this TV long ago and waited for it to be released. I must say that the design of the cabinet is great. I like the design much better than Sony or Samsung. I have not finished "playing" with all of the settings, so I don't want to say anything negative about resolution. I currently have a surround sound system hooked up to the TV, but the speakers that are embedded in the TV itself work GREAT. My friend's Samsung sounds weak and pathetic without a surround system, but my Toshiba is really strong and clear. Overall, I'm happy and would definitely recommend the TV to someone else. Also, there is a lot of hype about the 240mhz Clearscan technology. I can't tell that it makes any difference, but again, I haven't finished playing with all of the settings yet.

I use the product in my bedroom, which will misconstrue the use. I use it mainly for movies and video games, which look phenomenal. I've noticed the 24 fps content look AMAZING, not to say the 30 fps doesnt (TV signal), just the 24 stands out. The sound is a bit odd, with down-firing speakers, but it sure makes the front of the TV look uniform. The sound does also get quite loud, the loudest TV I've owned. The highs in the sound dont come out as clear as I'd like cause of the placement of the speakers.
