Comments about Fuji FinePix F200EXR 12-megapixel Digital Still Camera:

I really like taking pictures, and while I might like a DSLR, I am lazy and prefer the simplicity of a point-and-shoot. I wanted a compact-like camera I could put in my pocket, some manual controls, a wide angle, image stabilization, and more than 3x zoom. The big thing I was looking for was excellent low-light pictures. The F200EXR hits everything for me. Most all of my low-light pictures I have taken so far have turned out good (where as on my old camera, almost none of them would have turned out good). I like being able to set it on the EXR-Auto mode and it figures everything out for me for an excellent picture. Plus I feel special being able to take HDR-like pictures with the EXR-DR setting. When looking for cameras, I looked at this one, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 and the Canon SD880 IS, but the F200EXR won out. Other people I show the camera to are also impresed with the big LCD screen. Since I also take a lot of pictures of people inside, the mode where it takes a picture with and without the flash and then shows you both pictures is cool, too. Its design and many of its features have lots of attention to detail. Overall, I'm still impressed with this camera after a month of use. I'm glad that I choose it, and would choose it again.

Comments about Fuji FinePix F200EXR 12-megapixel Digital Still Camera:

I mostly use the EXR mode and select Dynamic Range or High ISO/Low Noise mode. The picture quality up to 800 ISO is great and a de-noise plugin to photoshop can easily deal with it. 1600 ISO gets a little funky, but still retains quality on par with my SLR. I really hate how the flash is on the top left; my hand blocked the flash unless I was careful. Wide 28mm equivalent is very useful. Great macro shots, but only at the wide setting; causes some distortion. Video quality is not good, but that's not an issue for me. Optical image stabilization is definitely a great help at slower speeds. Overall a big step up from my old workhorse F30.

Comments about Fuji FinePix F200EXR 12-megapixel Digital Still Camera:

The previous low noise king of point and shoots was the fujifilm f20/f30 series camera, until the f200exr fujifilm hasn't been able to match it. Finally The F200exr performs simillarly to the f20/f30, the key is the new EXR sensor, dpreview has a good discussion of the sensor at:[@]EXR.aspthere is a set of high iso pictures comparing the f30 with the f200exr at[@]The f200exr also has great build quality and the features expected from a current point and shoot camera like optical image stabalization and a 6x zoom.I can't agree that this camera is the "perfect complement to a DSLR", this is a point and shoot, it does not have a relatively fast lens (f3.3 is the "fastest" setting) and it does not shoot raw. I would reccomend the panasonic lumix dmc-lx3 if you want an enthusiast level pocket camera (although the lx3 is a little bulky).
