Great lens!
Comments about Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS USM Image Stabilizer Lens (Includes ET86 Lens Hood):
I like it now, will LOVE it when I master some of the special effects that can be done with it...to fully benefit from the extreme clarity and sharpness this lens can give you, use a high megapixel canon camera (Mark series) or shoot film. Kind of heavy, gave me some serious tendonnitis the first time I used it (no joke, and I'm no slacker in the muscle category). Just kind of awkward to hold when you aren't actively shooting.

I don't believe this lens needs much hype. This is the one that is a must in every camera bag. The uses are endless, and the ability to stop action is incredible. Shooting sports wide open is the only way to go.

Very fast lens. Quick sharp focus. Very heavy, but worth every penny.
Comments about Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS USM Image Stabilizer Lens (Includes ET86 Lens Hood):
During a photo shoot the camera with the 70-200 lens detached from the tripod and landed on pavement. I was shocked...should have used a heavy duty tripod. But the good news, only the UV filter was ruined and the lens was still in great shape. I'm so happy it survived that fall.

I use this lens mostly for wildlife and the result is fantastic. The fast and sharp focus for moving birds is very, very good. The results are worth the pain you get for holding over 3 pounds with your arm. This lens at the gate of professional Canon lenses and L series is "a must" if you look for quality photographs.

I love taking rapid pics of my son in baseball and swimming. Great examples to give him instructions. The details of the water splash and droplets are phenomenon. I added a Canon 2X teleconverter and the pics are fabulous. Easy to shoot without a tripod. The f2.8 is a must. I will not buy another lens unless it is an L and has a large aperture setting at least of 2.8!
The guys at One Call have been extremely helpful for all of my and my extended family's purchases.

Ok, people complain about the weight of this lens.... The reason this lens weighs more is because of the overall quality and durability! I shoot ladies fashion, lingerie and swimwear and will not leave for a shoot without this lens in my pack period. This is a must lens for any serious photographer

Got the lens for a new 5DMK II and it is a great combination. Low light with IS and high ISOs is great. Glad I sprung for the larger lense with IS.
Comments about Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS USM Image Stabilizer Lens (Includes ET86 Lens Hood):
Obviously, being of the L series of Cannon lenses, this is a fairly high end lens and they don't come cheap. It's fairly large and heavy for some operators and circumstances. I pack it with a 100-400 IS USM f4.5/5.6 lens as well as a 24-70 IS USM f2.8 lens and the pack is very heavy but shot resolution and quality is what it's all about. It's a great lens.

I have only had the lens a short time, but it has performed well during night football games and in capturing crisp action shot of dogs frolicing in water.

I shoot about 1500 frames at each of my son's varsity HS soccer games. Focus is fast! I shoot wide open almost always and when I get the subject in the cross hairs the shots are perfect. I us a 1.4x extender in bright light and switch it out at dusk. I even get decent shots under the lights (manual exposure f2.8 at 1/320 @ ISO3200) and the focusing is still fast.
