Comments about Sony KDL-52XBR9 52-inch BRAVIA 240Hz 1080p LCD HDTV:

The widgets on this TV are great. After updating the software, I was able to stream Netflix directly onto the TV. The only flaw I found on this TV is that the picture is not as good in a bright room.

Comments about Sony KDL-52XBR9 52-inch BRAVIA 240Hz 1080p LCD HDTV:

We've had this TV for several weeks and are very happy with it. Were concerned that a 52 inch would be too large for our small living room--viewing distance 12 feet--but it's just right. Before purchasing, we were comparing this SONY to the 55-inch Samsung UN55B8000, which is about $3K. At first I was wowed by the Samsung sharpness, bright color, and almost 3D-feeling picture. But in the end decided that the SONY picture is more subtle and lifelike. The Samsung is almost like watching a hyper-real cartoon. Especially in such a small room we think the Samsung wow picture would've been too much. This SONYpicture is plenty sharp and colorful for us.[...]. However, this TV is light. Possible for one person to get it into the house. Better to have two people to receive it.

Great picture, great price. Thanks OneCa

Comments about Sony KDL-52XBR9 52-inch BRAVIA 240Hz 1080p LCD HDTV:

Picked this up from OneCall along with a Sony STR-D1000 and then added a Sony BDP-S360 Blu-Ray player and a set of Paradigm Cinema 110 5.1 speaker set for a "budget" home theater for the family room.

Great picture quality on HD cable, Blu-Ray, regular DVD. I really like the way all the Sony components work together...put a disk in the player, TV turns on, the receiver sets to Blu-Ray, turns the TV on, and sets for "theater" mode. Great for my wife and kids who still have never figured out how to use the system in our dedicated home theater in the basement.

Relatively low-glare was crucial for our family room with two-story windows, and the Sony worked out well. Decent PQ out of the box, but tweaked picture settings do make a nice difference. Minor "flaslighting" that is seen with some LCDs is only noticed in a pitch-black room when there's no image on the screen. Watching Monday Night Football right now and it looks/sounds like I'm right there at the game!
