The SR60s produce brilliant sound for a low cost. The SR60s have a flexible, soft vinyl headband. The headband and earpeices are connected by metal height adjusters, which adjust the height of your head with the center of your ear. These nifty adjusters also allow the earpiece to rotate a full 360 degrees, permitting them to lie flat on a surface--perfect when packing in a suitcase. The SR60s come with Grado's new earpads. The new pads are a soft, porous, open cell foam that covers the driver-- much more comfy. The SR60s offer good sound quality, plus are easily driven by the output of a portable player or inexpensive home equipment-- a nice combination. They come terminated to a mini with a 1/4 inch adapter and have a straight cord that attaches to both earpeices.

Comments about Grado SR-60i Padded Folding Headphones:

These sound great. I was concerned about the comfort level, but they are just right. I had some other headphones(sennheiser, Ultrasone...etc.) that were circumaural, and made my ears hot and uncomfortable, but these I can wear for hours and sound really good. Have a nice open sound, with their open back design. These are keepers! Great Headphones all around!!

Comments about Grado SR-60i Padded Folding Headphones:

I was looking to replace a pair of headphones I use at work. "Open-Air" design was a requirement - I need to be able to hear if someone is calling me. These fit the bill, and also met my primary criteria - they are made in the USA! It's always refreshing to find a high-quality manufacturer that hasn't completely sold out. The sound is excellent - noticably better than my Shure E2c earbuds, which were previously the best headphones/earbuds I had (and I still consider those excellent - great for portable uses). If you want high-quality headphones, but don't want to pay very high prices, look no further. Absolutely some of the best [$] I've ever spent.

Really amazing sound, but this baby does leak sound whether the volume is on low or high so it's best for home use. Also the size of the cups makes it not so convenient for travel either. Overall, I love the 60i and listening to music now is quite an experience.

Comments about Grado SR-60i Padded Folding Headphones:

I love music. . .

One day I looked around and noticed that my killer system I had built for years was gone, wife took care of that that, "too LOUD". That my kickin' car system went with the car that did not fit with the baby, "we need more room". The concerts I hit several times a year had dried up, "Let's go antiquing".

WHAT HAPPENED! I used to savor music, the detail and how it made me feel. Maybe that's it I had become numb. Things change and I had become numb to life. As such the sources of feeling alive had all left through lack of use. The tools to enjoy music had all atrophied, wilted, departed, broken and not been replaced.

I WANT MY MUSIC BACK! I wanted to get a top notch set of phones to start enjoying music the way I used too. I wanted to get into that aural bliss that lets me forget the housing situation and who the ex is dating and probably doing while listening to my setup! I just wanted to rock out some. . .

OK or put on some Dave Brubeck and sip at my drink in a dim room until the world fades into a nice warm fuzz.

These SR60s aren't going to get anyone glancing my way. Yeah they are pure 70's or 80's reference/home studio styling. They are not comfortable lying on your side crying into a pillow, listening to old love songs either. But that's OK, they are an open design so if you enclose one side it sounds like the inside of a can.

BUT you will hear the in take of breath in Alexi Murdoch's "Breathe" that's part of the back beat and can't be heard on ear-buds. Dark Side of the Moon is trance enducing while having these SR60's strapped on. The build quality if solid, from good quality foam and plastics to real steel loop headband and a pickup cable I could garrote a pit bull with.

In life most things good are a good deal more expensive and less reliable than Grado SR60's. Pick up a pair; I'm not sure you can make such a simple, quick and effective jump in audio quality anywhere else for this price.

If these SR60's can make my world fall away with their aural capacity you'll love them. If it takes more than this; get a shrink.

Comments about Grado SR-60i Padded Folding Headphones:

The Grado SR-60s are a great sounding headphone. I have owned several models of Grado headphones, SR-125s, SR-225s, as well as the SR-60s. The Grado's have an upfront center sound stage. Their sonic characteristics are best described as live or natural sounding. Not too bright, ample bass. Spot on.

The only down side in is the mini-jack. Every pair I've every owned always develop a short after several years. This is the only design flaw I am aware of. This is not a huge issue since you can always buy a new pair (not too expensive). Also, you may notice some mild discomfort after wearing these headphones for several hours, but this is after HOURS of continuous use. Highly recommended cans!

these things sound DELICIOUS... but remember they need to be broken in first. they're pretty comfy even though some people say they aren't but thats just my opinion. the cords long enough for me and the 1/4 inch plug is great since i use them with my home stereo. your ipod or mp3 will sound beautiful with these things but try to stay away from earbuds you'll hate their inferior sound after hearing these.

Comments about Grado SR-60i Padded Folding Headphones:

I want headphones that produce a sound that the recording artist would say "That's what I meant!" Many headphones can do that but for under $100 the Grado SR60i is the best. (the SR80's pushes the bass). I owned Koss when they were the best in the 1970s, Koss PRO4A Liquid filled ear pads, weighed 2 lds. Had Bose, Sony, Sure buds, even Turtle Beach 4 driver per ear cans. For SOUND go Grado.

Comfort is an individual thing. I use the yellow Sennheiser ear pads on my Grado's and cut a slot for my glasses temple.

Durability - When was the last time you broke a headphone? Was it the headphones fault? Grado is a US made product. They can and will fix their products.

Sound "leaking" and too much outside noise? - look up open air headphones. Equal sounding closed ear cans will cost and weigh 3 times more.

We each have personal tastes when it comes to food, sound and visual appeal. But there are some brands I trust like Ford, Honda, Craftsman, Pepsi, Sony TV, you make your own list. For headphones I like these SR60i's..

These are, as many have said, the best headphones you can buy under $100. I really enjoy them so far. Comments about Grado SR-60i Padded Folding Headphones:

Grado SR-60 best for rock and other fast genre music. Great response in middle frequency and tight in bass / low frequency. Otherwise, the soundstage is narrow, but its impoved in The New SR60i. The SR60 will produce a sound that is pure Grado, warm harmonic color, rich full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics and an ultra smooth top end.
I recommended this headphone for rock-lover people with low budget but still want best experience on music listening.

First off, I think these are great headphones. The sound quality is awesome. I use them primarily on my computer for listening to music or movies when I don't want to disturb my girlfriend. I wouldn't recommend them for portable devices though, they are kind of bulky.

NOTE: The only reason I gave this produce four stars is because the sound leaks a little into the surrounding environment. In a quiet room people will probably be able to hear the music you are playing. This is because this headphone is an "open" style headphone (look it up if you don't know what that means).

I bought the Grado SR-60 headphones for my husband to use with the iPod he had received for Christmas, since he found the iPod earbuds extremely uncomfortable and they kept falling out of his ears. He was frustrated and in pain from the earbuds, so I needed an alternative that would provide wonderful sound with great comfort. The SR-60 exceeds all his expectations, and he is thrilled with their performance. The only drawback is that they can't be stored quite so easily as earbuds, but that is a very minor consideration when comfort is paramount. I recommend the SR-60 highly and without reservation.

Great sounds, compact design.

Cord a little on the rigid side, which limits the portability of it.

Otherwise, basically the best headphones for the price ever.

Comments about Grado SR-60i Padded Folding Headphones:

I use these headphones every day during work for about 5-7 hours of that time (running equipment, etc.). They have rich sound with surprising bass for the price. For the price, I've found no other that could distinguish with such clarity each instrument of a large band during the moments when they really begin to "rock" in a song - all the while not fudging on the bass and highs (especially voice). Of course, if you are looking for a set of headphones that sound like your expensive home theater system, good luck (you'd have to have headphones the size of small paint cans). Only draw back: the speakers can detach from the headband quite easily. Though they are easily reattached, you may loose the small end cap in the process of detachment. Also, as with any over the ear headphones, they can become uncomfortable after multiple hours of use. However, many days I will wear them for hours on end and never feel discomfort! Enjoy!

Comments about Grado SR-60i Padded Folding Headphones:

I mostly bought these headphones to use with my computer- my wife got tired of listening to the gunfire coming from the office as I shoot zombies...Anyway I wanted a good set of headphones to use with 3d games to give clear, accurate sound. The bulk of my shopping was for full cans but after reading the reviews for the Grado's I decided to give them a shot, especially since they were less money than all the others I was considering. I don't use them with my ipod- they are a bit large for that and my Sure E2c's are better for listening with a lot of ambient noise around (trains, plains, mowing the lawn...) and the Grados don't really block out ambient noise all that well, but when they are playing sound, you don't really hear ambient noise, just the crystal clear music...or gunfire. Anyway, I have listened to a great many headphones and unless you are going to get into the $300 and up range for headphones I don't think you could do better than the Grado SR60's and honestly these own a lot of way more expensive 'phones. Also, an ipod powers them comfortably giving them plenty of bass.

These headphones sound Great, so good that I just ordered the SR80's and will give these to my 27 year old daughter. I didn't believe all the great reviews I read but figured that for under $70 they were worth a listen. The cans set up a sound stage and details come alive... They are amazing and produce a sound quality that is near perfect. They bass is a little light, but i had to search for a fault.Buy and enjoy!

Comments about Grado SR-60i Padded Folding Headphones:

I had purchased a pair of senheiser px100s before purchasing the grado 60s. I must admit the senheisers are great sounding overall however the grados are outstanding in terms of flatness and accuracy across the entire sound spectrum. Music sounds exactly as it was intended to sound without peaks or dips from lows to highs. You will hear many things you missed in songs with a richness that will keep you listening for hours. They are worth at least 4 times their price BUY THEM!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? The Grado SR60's are amazing headphones, especially for the price. If you've stuck with budget headphones in the past, these are pretty much the best way to "ease yourself" into the world of high-end cans.

The ONLY REASON that I deducted one star from my score is because the original pair shipped with a faulty audio jack; but replacements are on their way!

if you like alot of high frequency that make your ear ring then these are for you. They were not for me. My koss portapros kick these cans butt. The portapros don't fatigue your brain and ears like these do, it's a shame these are so bad. Recommended for those who have already burnt out their high frequency hearing, I like the tight bass, just if the upper range was a bit flatter these would be perfect- these are going on EBay. Would be acceptable if used with an equalizer.

Comments about Grado SR-60i Padded Folding Headphones:

For the money these really can't be beat. The bass response is very tight, and they don't produce over-boosted treble like some lesser headphones.

I sure wouldn't refer to them as "folding" however. They sort of lie flat, in fact that's the one thing I don't like about them. The earpieces tend to get twisted around.

Comments about Grado SR-60i Padded Folding Headphones:

Use these mostly for rock. Based on a recommendation from [@]. These are awesome for listening to complex music. So rich, yet not too warm/bassy. The only quarrel I have is that these leak about 1/3 of the sound to the outside, which is what makes them so great to listen to, but not so great where quieter headphones are more appropriate.

The only negative is that they are open-ear headphones, which means it is easy for other people to hear what you are listening to.
