The CD5001 sounded a lot better than the old 18-bit Sony player it replaced. The problem is that it broke in less than 5 months. The loading tray stopped retracting. It opens fine but then wont close.
The Marantz customer service phone number on the warranty card did not answer or have voice mail and they have not answered email inquirys about how to obtain service.
The ergonomic design is not the most logical but that's not why I bought it for. If I can only get it fixed...
