Comments about Denon AVR-1909 A/V Multi-Source/Zone Receiver:

I did research for months on which receiver I was going to get. My family had gotten denon before and thus my research started with the 1909. It is feature rich system with a 7.1 ability or a 2 zone 5.1/2 ability. The first thing I noticed when I set it up with a pain of my old speakers is that with no set up the sound was as crisp, clear, and controlled without even being set up correctly. I paired it with some Kef 3005 speakers and found an experience that is as close to perfect as possible.
While I was researching the product I worried about the time and effort it wold take to set up the receiver as many others had said how hard it was to set up and how hard the remote control was. But with the built in speaker set up microphone and program it was really a breeze and though the controller takes a bit of time to get used to it has an intuitive feel after a bit.
All in all the denon was the first receiver i looked at and after months of research it was the last receiver i went looked at as well. Deep clear sounds. music sounds amazing and can only be outdone when listening to a true 7.1 movie. Best choice I have made in a very very long time.

Comments about Denon AVR-1909 A/V Multi-Source/Zone Receiver:

The Denon 1909 is a good unit for a basic setup for a bedroom or other small room. I was disappointed with the dynamic volume. It lowered the volume some on commercials but not enough where you did not have to manually adjust. One other area I was disappointed with was the 1080p upconversion. I ended up completely turning this off for all sources. I was very satisfied with the cinema EQ as it allowed the surround speakers to shine even in low volume situations.

Very nice AVR, setup did take some time, spend some time reading the manual (more than once). Connected to a Definitive Technology ProCinema 800 system. I like the size and it fits nicely into my home theater system (space). Great sound and many features found on more expensive systems.

Comments about Denon AVR-1909 A/V Multi-Source/Zone Receiver:

I installed this receiver into a new house with in wall wiring for 2 zones and it works great. I have not configured the AduioEq or level yet, but so far the perforamcne of the receiver is great. It takes some time to get to know the remote and the controls/functions. Of course, they are confusing as heck and the on-screen is menu is an improvment over previous models, but it has a long way to go before it is accused of being user freindly. It still takes some "assistance" from someone knowledgeable to set up a 2 zone HT system so I recommend getting some help if possible, otherwise be prepared to spend 2 - 4 hours fussing with set up.

GOT THE AVR-1909 IN DECEMBER. I SET IT UP AND IT MADE MY LIVING ROOM SOUND LIKE A MOVIE THEATER UNTIL TWO WEEKS LATER THE RECEIVER TRYING TO TURN ON WOULD THEN SHUT OFF(AMP PROTECTION CIRCUITRY/NEEDS REPAIR I FOUND OUT).OVERALL I WAS HAPPY 'TILL IT BROKE DOWN. AT THIS MOMENT IS BEING RETURNED BACK AND I'LL TRY AGAIN WITH THE SAME MODEL ONCE IS IN STOCK. WHEN AND IF I GET ANOTHER I HOPE TO REVIEW IT MORE POSITVELY.

This is a wonderful receiver. It gives great sound and once it is set up, you do not have to do anything but turn it on and adjust the volume.
The only thing that may be a problem for people
is that it is a little technical to set up. We
have everything going except the center speaker.
My son had trouble fiquring that out. Each speaker has to added on the receiver in a certain format. I am not good at that, so must wait till Christmas for my daughter to try. This is a superior receiver, very well built. It will give you fantastic sound when matched with excellent
speakers.
