Comments about Onkyo TX-SR876B Black 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver:

I use this product for Blue Ray/HD DVD/DVD/MUSIC. This is my final receiver for the next 15 Years. Economy is horrible and Ive owned 7 HTIB and still have 3 of those and a Onkyo 805,806,now 876. Unless companies go out of there way to make the sound any better I don't think so. Blu Rays/HDDVDs get A+++.DVD Audio and SACD get A+++++,DVD's up conversion through the receiver are excellent DVD's are nears HD. And stating that I'm very nit picky and my wife isn't she thought Some DVD's were HD movies it's really good.Sound is very warm does not get very warm. I play stuff in the -34db - -23db for movies and Music -50db to -30db this thing starts at -81 and goes to +19db.Wifi is not my concern I would not rely on a network to push about 10mb to 50mb of data continuously flawless. If you have money to burn this is well worth the money also had built in HD Radio. Games on PS3 Xbox360 and PC look fantastic also go through this receiver.

Comments about Onkyo TX-SR876B Black 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver:

The Burr Brown DACs make the sound come alive. I have been using other THX certified receivers in the past that didn't use Burr Brown DACs and I didn't realize what I was missing.

You simply will not be disappointed with this receiver.

Comments about Onkyo TX-SR876B Black 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver:

I had a Sony 5.1 older receiver and it never quite pushed my NHT speakers or split the surround accurately even after considerable playing with the menus. This new Onkyo receiver does a great job with translating sound to surround with a good push even at low volumes. I watched the Perfect Storm on an HD channel and the waves were crashing through my living room. It was what I expected and hoped the Onkyo receiver would give me. A little expensive (compared to main stream receivers) but worth it in my opinion.

Comments about Onkyo TX-SR876B Black 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver:

Basically using this unit for a home theater set up. I chose this product for it's HQV up scaling capabilities. True to the HQV claims it has excellent upscaling.
The unit is easy to setup but runs very hot even at idle.

Comments about Onkyo TX-SR876B Black 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver:

Great Receiver! Clean sound and powerful. Tons of features to compensate for your room. Audyssey multeq XT and Dynamic EQ are excellent. Dynamic Volume works very well with blu-rays and helps a bit with inconsistent TV volume. Upconverting is first-rate. Receiver is stable for powering 4 ohm speakers. Great piece of equipment!
