If you want a truly immersive home theater viewing experience, you need surround sound.
At OneCall, we offer home theater bundles from the most respected names in audio. These systems provide fantastic sound playback, and simplify the shopping process while still letting you add a separate disc player of your choosing.
But how do you choose the home theater bundle for you?
How to shop for home theater systems
Here's what you should look for:
Number of speakers: Traditionally, home theater bundles are "5.1" systems. That means they consist of 5 speakers (front left, front right, center, back left, and back right) and a subwoofer (the "point one").
However, as you can imagine, some audiophiles want more surround speakers. If you're really into detailed sound—you want to hear bullets whizzing from left to right, or birds chirping from behind you—look for a 7.1 system.
If, on the other hand, you want the most unobtrusive system possible, look for a system with fewer speakers that offer virtual surround sound. These home theater bundles include Bose® CineMate® and Acoustimass® systems, and Yamaha's one-piece Digital Sound Projector.
Speaker size: As with number of speakers, the size of the speakers you choose will depend on how much you value detailed sound quality on the one hand, or room-friendly size on the other. Many listeners prefer floor-standing speakers due to their fuller sound and deeper low frequencies. However, others like bookshelf speakers because they're wall-mountable and, when paired with a voice-matched subwoofer (as in these home theater bundles), offer fantastic lows as well.
Other options to consider
While these home theater bundles provide all the sound you need in a simple package, we also offer other types of systems. Depending on what you need, you might consider:
- A system with a disc player included: Choose one of these "home theater in a box" systems if you don't already have a disc player, and you don't want to choose a disc player separately.
- Separate speakers and components: If you really want to hand-pick each piece of your home theater system, then a home theater bundle may not be the best choice for you. Confused about what you need to buy? Don't be; just read our home theater starter guide.
